Back to School - both kids are at Sequoia
August 31st and both kids are back to school. We had a fun summer. We added a new family member, Marley our Goldendoodle, in May. We went to Tahoe in July for the 4th and rafted townt he lazy Truckee River (a total blast) and we went to Pennslyvania to Visit Todd, Karen and Morgan in August (not a good time for the east coast - sooo humid!). Mid-August we went to DIscovery Kingdom - what fun that was! But now we are back to school year reality...Sophie started 1st grade and Cooper started Pre-K and the best part they are both at the same school - Sequoia.
Change is Good?!
It's been a heard few months. We closed Little Star Cafe early June 2009. My health (MS) was really put to the brink by the over whelming stress from the cafe and the poor economy just made it too difficult to keep our doors open. It was a bittersweet decision. Now Marc and I are looking for new opportunities. I plan on re-entering the world of Human Resources and Marc back in construction. We are also looking at getting into the real estate market to buy and hold rental properties and to buy and flip. Currently Marc is working on converting the lower part of our house into a one bedroom apartment to generate some rental income. It's under construction as I write...see what's going on: Lots of digging, digging and more digging! While we are under the house adding an apartment, Marc is also building a wine cellar! It's going to be awesome...
Soccer Time

August is the start of soccer practice for Sophie, and this year Cooper Started too. Sophie's Team, the Black Tornados has six girls on her team in the U8 division. They played their first game September 12th. September 12th was Cooper's first day of organized chaos, aka: U5 boys soccer. His cousin, Gavin also joined the soccer band wagon. The first hour of soccer practice for Cooper and Gavin was really fun, but the last half fell apart. They both didn't want to play any more and sat out most of the last half hour. Well maybe it will be better next practice.
